The client bought a partially built house and contacted us with the desire to complete it. He wanted to transform a huge house with more than 300 m2 into a multi-apartment house with three separate residences, each apartment with its own access.

The primary purpose of the apartments will be medium-term rental. The client's wish was a higher quality of living, featuring a large central space with the opportunity to socialise while cooking, an emphasis on views, and comfortable bedrooms to retire to for a peaceful rest.

Since the house was already built and the spaces defined, there was less room for manoeuvre for the free design of the apartments. The ground floor and the first floor allowed for an almost identical layout of the rooms, but the attic apartment required special consideration and a different layout. Two 4-room apartments and one 3-room apartment in the attic were created. All three apartments have a large kitchen with an island, around which communal cooking and socialising are possible. The sofas are assembled and turned in several directions. Thus, they enable several forms of activity at the same time: reading, watching TV, and socialising. All three apartments have a bathroom and an additional separate toilet, which also includes a utility room. The apartment on the upper floor includes an outdoor kitchen and a space for socialising, while the apartment in the attic has an office corner.

Since we chose ceramics for the floor covering, primarily for ease of maintenance, the counterweight equipment is predominantly in wood. In addition, a few elements are custom-made, with many having been selected from catalogues since this will make it easier for them to be replaced when they wear out. We tried to conjure up an atmosphere suitable for the location, i.e. light, comfortable, and Mediterranean.
