There are new residential developments appearing in Kozina and our clients bought one before construction even started. They received the plans, but still had no idea what their new home would or should look like. Our task was to design the interior and, if necessary, adapt the architecture within permissible deviations.
We wanted to combine a modern interior with the feel and needs of a rural house. By choosing simple materials and calm tones, we aimed for a long-lasting, not fashionable design. The kitchen and dining room are in terrazzo and connected to the outside through a large panoramic window. Wood and terrazzo were also used in the furniture. The only other material is steel, which makes up the shelving system that separates the living room from the kitchen and dining room.
There are two bathrooms in the house. The larger one is on the first floor and has two windows and lots of daylight. This made it possible to bring some nature into the interior. There is another bathroom/utility on the ground floor, just below the larger one. We made a connection between them, a laundry chute with a hidden door, flush with the wall. In this way, all disturbing elements are hidden or removed to other rooms, and residents can enjoy the bathroom as if they were in a spa.
