Vis is a small Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea and the furthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland.

While walking down one of the narrow streets in the old part of town, you can immediately notice the characteristic facades made of precisely laid white stone and the typical Mediterranean vegetation that bursts from the occasional gardens surrounded by the ruins of a former house.

We tried to bring this feeling into the interior of this once residential house that now hosts 3 small apartments. The most important intervention was to remove all the plaster and show the original stone and brick walls. Its these walls and the wood flooring combined that bring new life to this old house.

The design of the furniture is reduced to the most basic form of what a piece of furniture can be. We aimed to create a modern and minimalistic furnishing that would highlight the newly created space.
